This DGS-1008MP supports the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ protocol and features 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T ports. With a total PoE power budget of 125 watts, each of the 8 PoE+ ports can supply up to 30 watts. A device that is far from a power outlet or that doesn’t need extra cables is an ideal candidate for PoE. It requires no configuration and is easy to install. All ports support Auto MDI/MDI-X, so crossover cables are not required when connecting to another switch. Using auto-negotiation, each port detects the link speed (10, 100, or 1000 Mbps) of a network device and intelligently adjusts for optimal performance. In spite of the switch’s absence of fans, it is designed to operate quietly wherever it is installed. DGS-1008MP maximises network performance while minimizing bad packet transmission with wire-speed filtering and store-and-forward switching. There is no configuration required and installation takes only a few minutes.

All ports support Auto MDI/MDI-X, eliminating the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch. In Auto-Negotiation, each port senses the network device’s link speed and adjusts for compatibility and optimal performance based on its link speed (10, 100 or 1000 Mbps). By combining wire-speed filtering and store-and-forward switching, the DGS-1008MP maximizes network performance while reducing bad packet transmission. By combining D-Link Green 3.0 Technology and IEEE802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), the DGS-1008MP switches can reduce operating costs without sacrificing operational performance. Every port on the D-Link Green switch is constantly monitored for network utilisation and link status. As well as detecting cable length automatically, the switches can reduce transmission power usage for shorter cables. Organizations can reduce power consumption by putting ports into sleep mode automatically when they are not in use by pairing EEE devices with DGS-1008MP switches.
